When you are quiet like me it is always hard to meet people, I work all the time and have always long for an embrace of someone special who I could call my boyfriend. The people I meet at work are not the dating type, there all either married or we just do not blend. I have went out many times with a group of workmates after work and even then it was awkward and we did not mix, we have nothing in common, we are really just all working together and that is it, there is no need for any other relationship to develop. I would go home at night sometimes and feel sad about the lack of connections I build up with people, its a lonely life without someone to share it with. My close friends where telling me about a speed dating night which some of them attended and how much fun it was. I researched more about the kind of things that happen and the sort of people that attend and I began to like the sound of it, it sounded like something I would be interested in. We all looked up various events that had special speed dating nights and I prepared myself to finally go to one, it was an exciting feeling and finally I knew I would be meeting people who wanted me to be there if we connected or not.

I admire a friend of mine, shes like an idol to me, men seem to always like her and be interested to talk to her, she has this hidden confidence that I love and want so I was glad she was coming with me on speed dating night to give me some much needed tips and advice about what to do. The first night I was prepared for in advance, my outfit was picked out as well as the type of person that I was looking for, I got nervous as we walked to the event and my friend was telling me that I should really just be myself so I could meet the right person. The night was a lot of fun, so many different people in such a short time, some I clicked with straight away others there was mainly silence. Overall speed dating worked out well for me I met a lot of great people who I wish to see more of.
