My best friend Carol has been dating a really great guy named Stan now for about 8 months and I just found out that he is going to be proposing to her this weekend. They met on one of those free dating sites that you see online and though we were all really skeptical in the beginning they have now proved to us that true love through the Internet is definitely possible. Carol had not had a boyfriend for over a year when she joined the site they met on and one night she simply got tired of being alone, so she went online and researched the most popular free dating sites until she found and joined the one she met Stan on. As for Stan he had just gotten out of a long termrelationshipwith a woman who had in the end left him for one of his best friends, so when he met Carol online both of them seemed the perfect fit right from the beginning and now after 8 months of having her as his girlfriend he is ready to make her his wife.

It makes me so happy to know that she, well actually that both of them have found each other and to see how they complete and complement each other so well. I can't wait until she calls me on Saturday night to tell me the news about his proposal, I just know that she is going to be so surprised and that of course she is going to say yes. It's going to be a lot of fun to plan the wedding and hopefully be a part of the wedding party.

So now the story of Carol and Stan has been making me think lately and really rethink my position regarding free dating sites. I also am alone and have been for some time and had resigned myself to being like this forever but now that I see how my friends life has changed I think I may also give some of those free dating sites a try. I would love to wake up in the morning next to my husband and the aroma of coffee in a house that we share. Now that I have seen their story I know that I can also have this and live a happy life next to someone and not alone that way I always thought I would be. Hopefully I will have the same luck as my friend.
